Typical Duties
To recognize, discuss and disseminate global based information/data on new technologies, innovations and other international learning to the ISBT membership and technical committees.
Areas of Interest
Innovations and Technology - worldwide focus on 1) innovative products, packaging, equipment and processing technology and 2) technical/scientific developments.
Beverage Operations — worldwide experience and issues addressing production, processing, operations and environmental / regulatory affairs.
Up-Date of Key Issues
Committee members have identified the following key "Global" issues as important to the Society.
- Environmental and scientific issues - Today's concerns (hot)
- Committee's focus on needs of "International" members
- Training - a critical need world-wide
- Use of supply chain philosophy internationally. Example: is there an interest or need to use a global co-op to buy packaging and ingredients. Since the suppliers are global, why not make the "Bottler" global
- Beverage quality standards and trademarks world-wide
- Internationally developed production and processing technology
- Ingredient and packaging developments
- Regulatory concerns and compliance issues
