About Bob Knight
Bob Knight's career began in the United States Armed Forces, serving on active duty in the U.S. Army. Following his six years of active military duty, Bob joined BOC Gases, a global industrial gas supplier. He spent 20 years at BOC Gases serving in positions of Field Engineer, Regional Manager of Customer Service and Field Engineering, and Director of Process Operations. In addition, Bob continued his military career as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired in 2008, holding the rank of Colonel, after serving one year combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Bob left the Industrial Gas business in 2003 to join Honour Inc., a privately held project management company, specializing in consulting and commercial construction. He held the position of Chief Operating Officer until the company was purchased by Newmark Knight Frank, a large commercial real estate firm. He left the construction industry behind in 2010 to once again pursue an opportunity to get back into the Industrial Gas Industry, taking the position of the Beverage Product Manager for Chart Industries. After two years in this position, Bob took over the position of MicroBulk Product Manager. His product responsibilities included the Perma-Cyl® MicroBulk Storage Systems, Orca™ MicroBulk Delivery Systems, and high pressure gas supply Trifecta® Gas Supply Systems. He recently took on a new role as the Applications Development Manager for both the cannabis and laser markets. Bob has a B.S. Degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. He also has a Master's in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

Carl Melville is the founder and Chief Marketing Officer of The Melville Group, an organization dedicated to "helping contract packaging companies grow." His firm helps firms open new markets, improve lead generation, increase revenue, and boot enterprise value. The Melville Group also works with private equity, providing industry research and due diligence on the contract packaging and contract manufacturing industry. During the past 25 years, Carl has held executive marketing roles in software developers, contract manufacturers, contract packagers, 3PLs, and consumer products companies, including Ryder, Power Packaging, TLC, Supervalu, and others. A noted speaker, advisor, and writer on supply chain business practices, Carl is also a strategic advisor to multiple industry associations, including The Contract Packaging Association. About Ron Puvak
Ronald A. Puvak is the Managing Director of the Contract Packaging Association, an association of contract packagers and manufacturers. Ron Puvak has been in the packaging industry for 40 plus years. In 1976 he began his career as a Research Technician. His responsibilities included projects in Material Strength studies, Fracture Analyses and Technology Training. In 1985 as a Technical Sales Representative and became responsible for the development and promotion of inspection systems to the packaging industry. Then he was promoted to Regional Manager – Europe, onto New Product Marketing Director and finally New Business Development Director. In 2007 he joined Plastic Technologies Inc. His duties are focused on Marketing and New Business Development for the PTI family of companies. His activities include promoting PTI's innovative, collaborative efforts as well as any licensing agreements. For over 10 years he was the Managing Director, of the PTI's/SBA-CCI joint annual event "The Packaging Conference". An active member of the International Society of Beverage Technologists (ISBT) he has served as Chairman for the Packaging Technology Committee, on the board member of the national organization and now helps coordinate ISBT's marketing effort. In 2014 Ron was elected to be the President of ISBT. In 2019 Ron was inducted into ISBT's Circle of Honor. In addition, he has been a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers Blow Molding. He has served as Secretary, Chair-elect and Chairman and is an Honored Service member. In 2003 and then in 2010 Ron received recognition as a Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) via the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP). He is now has a lifetime CPP designation. In September 2017 he accepted the position of Managing Director for the CPA.

August 26 — Proposition 65: Regulatory Overview, Warning Label Exemptions, and Highly Litigated Compounds

If you sell products into California, you need to be aware of Proposition ("Prop") 65 as lack of compliance with warning requirements under the regulation may introduce significant legal and monetary ramifications. Prop 65 was enacted as the Safe Drinking Water and Enforcement Act in 1986 to address concerns about consumer exposure to chemicals that may introduce risks of cancer, birth defects, and/or reproductive harm. The Prop 65 list now constitutes nearly 1000 chemicals that may impact the full scope of products sold into commerce in California. For businesses with 10 or more employees selling into California, the Prop 65 regulation requires a warning be provided to citizens prior to purchase of any product that may cause exposure to listed chemicals; however, exemption from warning obligations is possible, provided that the exposure to listed chemicals does not exceed safe harbor levels, where established. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the finished consumer product to determine whether their products can reasonably be expected to result in a significant exposure. In addition, in an effort to make warnings more meaningful and useful for the public, new requirements for warning came into effect in August 2018 that require identification of listed chemicals on the warning label and updates to notification requirements to retailers; increasing the impetus to better understand the nature of the chemicals that may be present in a product. This presentation intends to provide an overview of the regulation including important nuances and details, avenues used by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) for listing of new compounds, considerations for exposure assessment, and trends associated with Prop 65 legal notices.

About Kelly Magurany
Ms. Kelly Magurany, M.Sc., DABT is a Senior Research Toxicologist with NSF since January 2018 having spent 13 prior years in the chemical industry and food sectors in assessing human health impact and regulatory compliance (including Proposition 65) for chemical exposures in both occupational and food contact settings, with emphasis on water, food packaging, and food processing chemistries. A Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology since 2014, Ms. Magurany's expertise includes development of human and environmental risk characterizations with derivation of reference concentrations leveraging read-across, (Quantitative) Structural Activity Relationships (QSAR), and Threshold of Toxicological Concern approaches; and estimates of chemical exposure and intake by dermal, inhalation, and oral routes leveraging US EPA, RIVM, and other available exposure models. Ms. Magurany has a Master of Science degree in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida at Gainesville and is an active member of the Society of Toxicology since 2005.
